Search for fishermen intensified

Hyderabad, June 21: The government has intensified search for 50 fishermen who had gone missing at the sea near Kakinada in East Godavari district. Coast Guard is conducting the search operations and today two ONGC and one Reliance helicopters were pressed into service. District Collector H Arun Kumar said that the fishermen ventured into the sea on June 16th. According to sources, engines of two fishing boats failed in mid-sea and officials are making efforts to trace them. The government warned fishermen not to venture into the sea. Meanwhile, the depression crossed the coast between Gopalpuri and Puri in Odisha today. IMD forecast heavy rainfall in both the Telugu states in the next 24 hours.
