ACB grills TDP leader

Hyderabad, June 17: Telangana's Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Wednesday questioned TDP leader V. Narender Reddy in the cash-for-vote scam. ACB officials questioned Narender Reddy for over five hours, while Telugu Desam Party legislator Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, who was also summoned for interrogation, failed to turn up. The ACB late on Tuesday served notice to both the TDP leaders. As Veeraiah was not available at his residence, the officials pasted the notice on the residence door. Since Narender Reddy was the TDP-BJP candidate in the Telangana legislative council elections, his questioning is being considered vital. Later, speaking to media, Narender Reddy claimed that he had not committed any mistake and assured all the necessary cooperation to ACB in conducting probe. Earlier in the day, false runours emerged that Narender Reddy was arrested by ACB. Police beefed up security at Narender Reddy’s house.
