Gujarat’s Madhapar village has over Rs 5,000 cr deposits

Ahmedabad, June 17: With Rs 5,000 crore deposits, Madhapar, located six km away from Bhuj town in Gujarat, is one of the richest villages in Asia. Over 7,360 families live in Madhapar. Similarly, two other neighbouring villages Kera and Baladia each have deposits over Rs 2,000 crore. The three villages have 30 branches of eight nationalized banks and 24 ATMs. Some other villages in the state have Rs 100 to Rs 500 crore deposits. Three thousand people from Madhapar migrated to Britain. Residents of this villages are settled in Australia, UK, South Africa, Kenya, Mozambique, Uganda, Tanzania and other nations.
