One dies as Hampi Express rams lorry

Hyderabad, June 17: In yet another train accident, the Hampi Express is said to have rammed a lorry at Dhawarapalli railway gate near Hindupur of Anantapur district in the early hours of Wednesday killing the lorry driver on the spot. The accident occurred when the iron-loaded lorry was crossing the railway gate. The lorry was totally damaged while the train engine was partially damaged. The railway officials brought another engine from Dharmavaram and attached it to the Hampi Express for its onward journey. Train traffic between Bengaluru and Dharmavaram was effected for about two hours due to the accident. Railway higher officials reached Hindupur to investigate the incident.
