Gujarat Titans Secure Convincing 4-Wicket Victory Over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2026

Gujarat Titans continued their strong campaign in IPL 2026 with a commanding 4-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru in a high-voltage encounter at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Thursday.Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, Gujarat Titans restricted RCB to a modest total of 157 runs. 

In reply, GT displayed clinical batting prowess, successfully chasing down the 158-run target in just 15.5 overs, winning the match with 25 balls to spare.

The Titans got off to a flying start in the chase. Openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan provided a quick beginning, though Sudharsan departed early for 6 runs. Captain Shubman Gill then took charge, playing an aggressive knock of 43 runs off just 18 balls, studded with 4 fours and 3 sixes. Jos Buttler complemented him brilliantly, smashing 39 runs from 19 deliveries, including 2 fours and 4 towering sixes. Thanks to their explosive partnership, Gujarat Titans raced to 69 runs for the loss of 1 wicket by the end of the powerplay.

However, RCB fought back strongly through experienced pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who picked up three crucial wickets — including those of Gill and Buttler — to bring the game back in balance. At one stage, GT slipped to 92/3. Romario Shepherd further tightened the screws by dismissing Shahrukh Khan (8) and Washington Sundar (12), raising hopes for the visitors.

In the end, it was finisher Rahul Tewatia who once again proved his worth under pressure. Tewatia remained unbeaten on 27 off 17 balls and, along with support from Jason Holder (12) and Rashid Khan (7* not out), guided Gujarat Titans safely to victory.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the standout bowler for RCB, finishing with impressive figures of 3 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs. Romario Shepherd claimed 2 wickets, while Josh Hazlewood had a forgettable day, leaking 56 runs in his 4 overs.With this victory, Gujarat Titans have strengthened their position on the IPL 2026 points table, showcasing both batting depth and bowling discipline.
