Police recover stolen Shiva idol worth Rs.15 Cr
Nellore, May 29, 2015: Police have arrested 12 persons of Chittor and Kadapa districts and recovered the stolen idol of Lord Dakshinamurthy worth Rs.15 Cr. The Panchaloha (made five metals) deity of Dakshinamurthy,weighing around 75 kg , was stolen from a old Shiva temple at Venkatagiri in Nellore district on April 10. The idol was made in the year 1760. Nellore district police had appointed a special police team to trace the thieves and recover the invaluable idol. Police have recovered a car and some equipment used for melting the Pancha loha deities from the arrested.
