TTD EO Hails Teamwork as Millions Witness Vahana Sevas on Ratha Saptami
Tirumala: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) successfully managed an unprecedented turnout during the Ratha Saptami festival, with a record 3.45 lakh devotees witnessing the Vahana Sevas. Speaking at a media conference on Tuesday, TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal attributed the smooth conduct of the January 25 event to coordinated teamwork and the strategic direction of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Anil Kumar Singhal highlighted that the scale of arrangements mirrored the grandeur of the annual Brahmotsavams. To support the massive influx, the administration ensured continuous food distribution, serving Annaprasadams to 9.42 lakh pilgrims and beverages to over 6 lakh people in the galleries. The APSRTC was instrumental in logistics, operating nearly 4,000 trips to transport over 1.4 lakh devotees between Tirupati and Tirumala.
Additional EO Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary stated that the focus on devotee comfort yielded positive results. Feedback collected via digital platforms and volunteers indicated a 97% satisfaction rate, with zero complaints reported regarding facilities in the Mada Streets.
Security and safety remained a top priority, with 1,800 police personnel, 1,414 vigilance staff, and 150 traffic marshals deployed to manage the crowds. Medical teams also provided emergency assistance to 23,000 devotees. The EO extended gratitude to the police, district administration, sanitary workers, and Srivari Sevaks for their tireless efforts in making the mega religious festival a success.
