Ashok Gajapati: AP didn't get special status due to 14th Finance Commission

New Delhi, May 24, 2015: Union Minister and TDP leader Ashok Gajapati Raju on Sunday expressed the view that AP did not get special status because of the 14th Finance Commission's recommendations. "The Centre could not take a decision in favour of special status to AP due to the recommendations of the 14th Finance Commission. It is technical and nothing else," he told a Telugu daily , adding that things would not take shape just in a year. "It is only a beginning and not the end," he remarked. Ashok Gajapati Raju said that the government of Modi is one of practical action and not of just words."He is taking all decisions by consulting the friendly parties and has given importance to social security in the first year. Also, he is always thinking on ways to strengthen the farming community. " Dismissing reports that Modi decisions are anti-farmer, the Union Minister has said the reports are the result of opposition conspiracy. He said after five years, there would be only three states in India with deficit budget and they are AP, Bihar and West Bengal.
