YSRCP asks AP Govt to withdraw GO on land lease

Hyderabad, May 17, 2015: Taking strong objection to the GO on capital formation which enables the State to give land on lease for 99 years to private parties, YSR Congress has demanded that it should be revoked immediately as there is a hidden agenda in the land acquisition policy itself. “The fertile land taken away from the farmers will be given on a platter to the private parties who can mortgage and raise loans and immensely benefit and the 99 year lease norm is highly objectionable as the Government lasts only for four years while the period of lease spreads to over three to four generations. The maximum lease given could be only 30 years as per Delhi precedence,” Party General Secretary Dharmana Prasada Rao told reporters here on Sunday. The procedure of giving land on lease for such a long period will bring in a situation of plunder to private parties and all political parties, whether or not they have representation in the State assembly, should be taken in to consideration by the State and convince the features of the lease method. “We have been time and again telling that there is a hidden agenda to ditch the farmers, snatch their multi-crop lands and give it to private parties at throw-away terms in lieu of  kickbacks and this GO no 190 of Municipal Administration has brought to the fore such ulterior motives of the State. The State should answer as to why private consortiums are encouraged and why the land is being given to them on lease who in turn will mortgage and taken loans to further their business interests. The decisions of the State Government will come in for review and the process of development will be hampered unless all political parties are taken in to consideration,” he said. “We demand that the GO should be withdrawn immediately and take all political parties into consideration on the issue of capital formation as it is of a permanent nature while the term of TDP in office is just four more years,” he said.
