Is HCA's Uppal cricket stadium to be seized?
Hyderabad, May 9: Apparently, the executive body of the Hyderabad Cricket Association, who are the owners of the Uppal cricket stadium, had not paid property and other taxes worth Rs 12 crore to the GHMC. Despite several reminders, the HCA had not paid the taxes on the property and on revenues earned from matches played at the cricket stadium. In this connection, the GHMC has decided to seize the cricket stadium located near the Uppal industrial area. GHMC has alleged that HCA had not constructed the stadium as per civic rules and regulations and hence it is getting ready to seize the cricket stadium at a time when IPL matches are being played at the venue.
