AP Government to Organise Month-Long Campaign on GST Reforms

Amaravati: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) 2.0 reforms will strengthen the Make in India programme and promote domestic production. He said the reforms would boost Indian brands in global markets and pave the way for a self-reliant economy.

Presenting the schedule of a one-month campaign on the benefits of GST reforms in the Legislative Assembly, N. Chandrababu Naidu appealed to people to purchase Indian-made products and thereby contribute to the country’s economic growth. He expressed confidence that India would become the world’s leading economy by 2047 and that Andhra Pradesh would emerge as the number one state. He said the GST reforms would also support the state government’s vision of achieving the “one family – one entrepreneur” programme.

The Chief Minister announced the formation of a ministerial committee comprising Payyavula Kesav, Nara Lokesh, Kandula Durgesh, Satyakumar Yadav, and Vangalapudi Anitha to ensure the success of the campaign.

Stating that the reforms would benefit all sections of society, N. Chandrababu Naidu said the GST changes would bring an additional benefit of ₹2.25 lakh crore to the country and ₹8,000 crore to Andhra Pradesh. He stated that the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSME) sector would receive a major boost. He added that the “double engine Sarkar” would achieve “double engine growth” through the GST reforms.

The Chief Minister said the state government had decided to conduct 65,000 meetings across Andhra Pradesh starting today and continuing until the Deepavali festival. A door-to-door campaign will also be undertaken to create awareness about the benefits of GST reductions on essential commodities, household items, medicines, and other goods. Display boards will be set up at various locations highlighting reduced product prices, and awareness programmes will be conducted in educational institutions as well. He called on all Members of the Legislative Assembly and ministers to play an active role in the campaign.

Extending his greetings to people on the occasion of Dasara and Deepavali, N. Chandrababu Naidu appealed to them to celebrate the festivals in a grand manner, making use of reduced prices brought by the people-friendly GST reforms.
