Govt declares state funeral for Malli Mastan Babu

Nellore, April 21, 2015: The Nellore district administration is making arrangements to accord a state funeral to the deceased ace mountaineer Malli Mastan Babu. District officials said Mastan Babu's body would arrive in Chennai this evening and would be handed over to his family members. "In recognition of his contribution to the mountaineering and for making the country proud, the government has decided to conduct state funeral to the ace mountaineer, " Joint Collector Imtiyaz Ahmed told newsmen. The final rites will be held at his native town Gandhi Janasanhgam near Sangham town in Nellore district.
