Two Chinese solar companies show interest to invest in AP
Hyderabad , April 17, 2015: Two Chinese companies have evinced keen interest in exploring the possibility of investing in the solar power industry in Andhra Pradesh. According to AP Chief Minister's office here, two Chinese solar power companies, Trina Solar and JA Solar, have informed the visiting CM Chandrababu Naidu on his last day of China tour that they are interested in making investments in the solar industry in AP. Chandrababu held a meeting with the representatives of the two solar companies at Shanghai on Friday where the Indian Ambassador Ashok K.Kantha and India's Consul General Naveen Srivastav were also present. During the meeting, Tina Solar representatives told Naidu they are thinking of investing in solar power panel manufacturing unit in AP. Reacting immediately, Chandrababu asked them to visit AP and identify a location suitable for them to launch their manufacturing unit. On the other hand, JA Solar representatives told Naidu that they are interested in setting up a 500 MW power plant in the state, said the CMO office in its statement. The statement added two construction companies have also shown keen interest to make investments in AP.
