Relief and Setback for Vallabhaneni Vamsi in Court

Vallabhaneni Vamsi, senior leader of the YSRCP and former Member of the Legislative Assembly, encountered mixed outcomes in court today in connection with the case concerning the distribution of fake housing pattas. The Nuzvid Court dismissed a petition filed by the Hanuman Junction Police seeking a second round of police custody for Vallabhaneni Vamsi. The court stated that there was no necessity for further custody as Vamsi had already been interrogated for two days in the same case previously.

Although the police argued that the initial investigation was not conducted effectively due to Vamsi’s health issues at the time, the court did not accept this reasoning.

However, since the remand period imposed earlier in the same case ended today, the police presented Vallabhaneni Vamsi virtually before the magistrate. Following the hearing, the judge extended his remand until June 12 and issued formal orders to that effect.

Meanwhile, Vallabhaneni Vamsi submitted a petition to the Nuzvid Court seeking permission to undergo treatment at a private hospital due to health-related reasons. The court responded by instructing the police to file a counter and adjourned the next hearing to June 2.

In a related development, in the illegal mining case, the court granted two-day police custody for Olupalli Mohan Ranga, a close associate of Vallabhaneni Vamsi. Police transferred Ranga from the Vijayawada District Jail to Gannavaram Hospital for a medical examination before beginning the interrogation at the police station.
