BRS Is Making Unwarranted Criticisms: Chief Minister Chandrababu

Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National President Nara Chandrababu Naidu was unanimously re-elected as the national president of the party. This election took place on the second day of the TDP’s Mahanadu convention being held in Kadapa. Party Election Officer Varla Ramaiah made the official announcement. At the Mahanadu venue, Nara Chandrababu Naidu formally took the oath of office as TDP National President.

Addressing the party cadre on this occasion, Nara Chandrababu Naidu emphasized that the development of the state and the welfare of the people are his government’s top priorities. He reiterated that his ultimate goal is to lead Andhra Pradesh towards progress in all sectors.

He reaffirmed his commitment to completing the multipurpose Polavaram Project by December 2027 and dedicating it to the nation. Highlighting the potential benefits of utilizing water that would otherwise flow wastefully into the sea, Nara Chandrababu Naidu stated that Telangana could also gain from such initiatives. He alleged that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is making unwarranted criticisms on this front. He reminded that the TDP had never objected when Telangana constructed projects on the Godavari River.

Nara Chandrababu Naidu elaborated on a large-scale plan to transfer water from the Polavaram Project to the Krishna River, then to the Bollapalli Reservoir, and subsequently to Banakacharla. “The Polavaram–Banakacharla linkage project, once completed, will transform the very profile of the state,” he stated. He further mentioned the intention to interlink rivers from the Vamsadhara to the Penna in order to irrigate the Telugu-speaking regions and fulfill a long-standing commitment to the people.
