Mahanadu 2025: Chandrababu Vows Development, Honors Party Workers' Sacrifices

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National President and Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu declared that party cadre are the true leaders and lifeblood of the party. On Tuesday, the first day of the Mahanadu event began in Kadapa with the hoisting of the party flag, tribute to the Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao statue, and lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Chandrababu Naidu paid respects by observing a two-minute silence in memory of those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam tragedy, the soldiers martyred in Operation Sindoor, and party members who had passed away.

He expressed that this Mahanadu would be remembered in history and noted his happiness in conducting it for the first time in Kadapa after the formation of the coalition government. Chandrababu Naidu stated that seeing the enthusiasm of the cadre filled his heart with emotion and promised that their sacrifices would never go in vain. He assured that the party would stand firmly by them and deliver welfare benefits in every possible way.

Chandrababu Naidu attributed the extraordinary success of the party in the 2024 elections to the fighting spirit and sacrifices of its cadre. He said the party made history with a 93 percent strike rate and 57 percent vote share, crediting the victory to the “yellow soldiers.” He also acknowledged that contesting the elections in alliance with Jana Sena and the Bharatiya Janata Party significantly contributed to the triumph. He urged every leader to remember that the party’s current strength is because of those who carried the party flag for decades. “In our 43-year journey, we faced crises no other party in India has seen. Those who claimed the TDP was finished were themselves finished. The TDP flag continues to fly high,” said Chandrababu Naidu with emotion.

He alleged that the previous rulers had devastated the state, indulging in murder politics and acts of vengeance. He recalled that TDP leaders and workers who questioned these actions were harassed, but no one lowered the party flag. “Our yellow lion, Chandrayya, was killed while shouting 'Jai Telugu Desam.' It is because of such sacrifices that the coalition has come to power. I bow my head in respect to all your sacrifices,” he said.

Chandrababu Naidu asserted that the TDP had set trends in governance, welfare, reforms, and development. From abolishing the Patel-Patwari system to granting property rights to women, from providing rice at ₹2 per kilogram to constructing pucca houses, and from ₹30 pensions to today’s ₹4,000, he said it was the TDP that initiated these programmes. He listed achievements like the Deepam scheme, empowerment of DWCRA groups, provision of IT jobs, and enabling political power for marginalized communities. “It’s not about any one region or group. There is a clear line before and after the rise of the yellow flag,” he remarked. He added that the party registered one crore memberships in 45 days, setting a record as a regional party.

Chandrababu Naidu declared that he remains a lifelong student, learning continuously to serve the people. He said the TDP has always fought relentlessly against corruption, from the movement to protect democracy in the undivided state to recent destructive governance. He pointed to the campaign against illegal mining in Obulapuram as an example of a successful movement. He stated that orders have been issued to investigate the corruption of the previous government and warned that stolen public money would be recovered.

Outlining future plans, he pledged to lead Andhra Pradesh on a path of comprehensive development. He promised to complete the Polavaram project and provide water to every acre, and emphasized a focus on green energy and green hydrogen. “I built Hi-Tech City and brought IT to Hyderabad. Through this Mahanadu, I will prioritize quantum valley and AI, taking the Telugu people forward,” he said. He explained that the goal is to make Andhra Pradesh a golden state by 2047, increase per capita income to ₹55 lakhs, and achieve zero poverty.

Chandrababu Naidu stated that the government had launched several welfare schemes within its first year in office. He said 6.4 million people were receiving pensions ranging from ₹4,000 to ₹15,000, and that Anna Canteens had been reopened. He mentioned that the Deepam scheme was providing three gas cylinders to one crore people and announced that from August 15, women would travel free in RTC buses. He said the DSC notification had been issued and that the “Thalliki Vandanam” scheme would be launched soon. Highlighting investment, he said 76 projects had been approved in 11 months, with ₹4.96 lakh crore in investments and 4.57 lakh job opportunities expected. He recalled submitting a report to the Prime Minister, advocating that demonetisation was essential to eliminate corruption.

Chandrababu Naidu said the TDP had transformed the face of Rayalaseema, completing projects like Telugu Ganga, KC Canal, and Handri-Neeva. He announced plans to develop industrial corridors in Kopparthi (Kadapa district) and Orvakal (Kurnool district). He called for strengthening party leadership from the grassroots level and improving synergy between the party and the government. He urged the cadre to ensure victory in all 10 assembly seats in Kadapa district in the next election. He concluded by affirming his commitment to work continuously until Andhra Pradesh and the Telugu people are made number one in the country.
