England Bowler Tom Curran Breaks Silence on India-Pakistan Controversy

England fast bowler Tom Curran has finally broken his silence on media reports that claimed he “cried like a child” during a period of heightened tension between India and Pakistan. Curran, who was representing the Lahore Qalandars in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) at the time, expressed relief after the resumption of the tournament following a ceasefire between the two countries.

Tom Curran categorically denied the allegations made by Bangladesh all-rounder Rishad Hossain, who had earlier claimed that Curran and New Zealand cricketer Daryl Mitchell were extremely anxious during the tense situation.

Responding to the controversy through his Instagram account, Tom Curran clarified that he did not cry. “It’s good to see things getting back on track. I hope peace continues between these two unique nations,” he stated. He followed up with a light-hearted remark: “By the way, I didn’t cry… I was ready (laughing emoji),” he posted.

Tom Curran came into the spotlight after Rishad Hossain made comments during an interview with Cricbuzz, saying, “He (Tom Curran) went to the airport, but upon hearing it was closed, he began crying like a child. It took two to three people to console him.”

However, Rishad Hossain later issued an apology to both Tom Curran and Daryl Mitchell for his earlier comments. In a statement, he said, “I realize that a recent comment I made led to confusion and was unfortunately misrepresented in the media. It was a complete misunderstanding, and I exaggerated emotions unnecessarily.” He added, “I sincerely regret the misunderstanding caused by this and have offered an unconditional apology to Daryl Mitchell and Tom Curran.”
