Indian-Origin Engineer Among Three Killed During Mountaineering in the United States

A tragic mountaineering accident in the U.S. state of Washington has claimed the lives of three climbers, including Vishnu Irrigireddy, a prominent engineer of Indian origin.

Vishnu Irrigireddy, 48, a resident of Seattle, had embarked on a climbing expedition with three friends to the North Early Winters Spires area in the North Cascades. After successfully ascending the mountain, the group encountered sudden adverse weather conditions while descending. This led to the failure of an anchor point they were using, causing the climbers to fall approximately 200 feet into a ravine.

Vishnu Irrigireddy and two others died on the spot due to the fall. The fourth member of the group, though seriously injured, managed to travel nearly 64 kilometers to reach a safe location and inform authorities about the incident. Based on the information he provided, rescue operations were promptly initiated. Emergency crews, aided by helicopters, reached the site and retrieved the bodies of the deceased climbers.

Vishnu Irrigireddy served as the Vice President of Engineering at Fluke Corporation, a renowned electronics company based in Seattle. He was not only highly regarded in his professional field but also actively participated in various community initiatives in the Greater Seattle area. News of his death has left his family members in deep sorrow.
