PM Modi Says Pakistan Must Hand Over PoK, Operation Sindoor Ongoing

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has once again asserted India's unwavering stance on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), stating unequivocally that Pakistan has no option but to hand over the territory to India. Speaking in New Delhi on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made it clear that there will be no shift in India’s position on PoK, even as discussions with Pakistan loom. He reaffirmed that India remains firm on the Kashmir issue and emphasized there is no question of stepping back.

According to credible sources, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given full operational freedom to the Indian Armed Forces to respond strongly if provoked by Pakistan. “If Pakistan fires a single bullet, respond with a missile,” he reportedly instructed the defence forces. He further warned that “Operation Sindoor” is still active and any reckless move by Pakistan would certainly be met with retaliatory strikes by India.

On Monday afternoon, a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was held at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg. The meeting was attended by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the chiefs of the three armed forces. During this meeting, a clear message was reportedly conveyed to the international community regarding India's firm stance on PoK. The armed forces were also directed to deliver a strong response to Pakistan.

In an indirect reference to previous comments by former U.S. President Donald Trump—who had once offered to mediate on the PoK issue—Prime Minister Narendra Modi clarified that India does not require any mediation. He reiterated that PoK is an internal matter for India, and that Pakistan must hand it over. His recent remarks signaled that there is no scope for third-party intervention in the dispute.

Though there have been past ceasefire agreements between India and Pakistan, incidents of Pakistan violating those agreements within hours have been recorded. In light of such breaches, Indian military sources have long maintained that continued operations like “Operation Sindoor” are necessary. Experts interpret Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s latest comments as a stern warning to Pakistan amid the current geopolitical climate.
