China Responds as India-Pakistan Conflict Intensifies
A tense atmosphere resembling wartime has emerged between India and Pakistan as bilateral relations continue to deteriorate. In this context, China has issued a response, expressing its readiness to play a constructive role if required to help resolve the issues between the two nations.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China released a statement urging both India and Pakistan to exercise restraint. “We are closely following the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. We urge both countries to exercise restraint in the interest of peace and stability. Both sides should avoid actions that could further intensify the situation. The matter should be resolved peacefully. If necessary, we are prepared to play a constructive role in bringing an end to the conflict,” said the Chinese Foreign Ministry in its official statement.
The Indian military has launched Operation Sindoor targeting terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) in retaliation for the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. As part of the operation, missile strikes were conducted at nine locations, resulting in the elimination of approximately 100 militants.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has reportedly escalated its response with what has been described as a “malicious intent,” launching drone and missile attacks across the border targeting Indian civilians. In this charged scenario, the strain between the two countries has reached alarming levels.
