Exercises for diabetes patients

Exercises and yoga play a key role in the lifestyle of diabetes patients. However, too much exercise is dangerous and it should be in limits. Experts advise that diabetes patients must do exercises as per the advice of an instructor only.

Muscles will be strengthened by doing exercises. With this, the capacity of the cells for receiving insulin will be improved. The production of the chemicals like endorphins and serotonin, which help keep you happy, is increased.

The doctors say that low blood sugar is more dangerous than high blood sugar (hyperglycemia). So, diabetes patients have to eat a few snacks before going to do exercises. If you can keep candies, glucose biscuits and juice, you can have them when the sugar levels are down in the body and the position becomes dangerous.

Diabetes patients have to keep their feet safe from injury and so wearing proper footwear is strongly recommended. One has to check blood glucose levels before and after doing exercises. With this, one can gain an idea how much exercise is necessary.

Diabetic neuropathy patients have to keep away from doing things like jumping. They should take maximum care so that their feet are not injured. Doing simple exercises is better for these patients.

You should walk as much you can in a day. When you are going to do exercises, you should keep a card in your pocket in which an emergency cell number should be provided.
