The issue of phone tapping has become a contentious issue in Andhra Pradesh politics. MLA Kotamreddy has claimed that his phone is being monitored. Balineni Srinivasa Reddy, a former minister and regional coordinator, strongly rebuked Kotamreddy's allegations and the release of the audio. He asked Kotamreddy to leave the party if he doesn't like.. Balineni also stated that the audio released by Kotamreddy was a recorded call and he would prove it. He then issued a challenge to Kotamreddy, asking if he would withdraw from the competition if the call was proven to be recorded one. Balineni said he is ready to present Kotamreddy's friend to the media to determine the truth.
