NTR district: A major fire broke out in the NTR district of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday night, gutting 19 shops in a complex near the Penuganchiprolu Thirupathamma temple in the Jaggayyapeta constituency. According to the victims, the damage to the property is estimated to be worth Rs 50 lakh. The incident took place due to the explosion of gas cylinder. It is said that the traders had recently stocked up on a large number of toys, bangles, and puja materials in preparation for the upcoming Thirupathamma Ammavari jatara. Firefighters from Jaggayyapeta were deployed to extinguish the flames. The temple's executive officer, chairman, and Tahsildar inspected the scene.
