Hyderabad: In a deeply disturbing incident, a woman took her own life by jumping from the 23rd floor of an apartment building after her husband and in-laws pressured her to agree to the mercy killing of their mentally challenged son. The incident occurred at Manjeera Trinity Homes in Kukatpally, Hyderabad. According to reports, the deceased, identified as Swathi, a software engineer, gave birth to a mentally challenged child eight years ago and was relentlessly pressured by her husband Sridhar, also a software engineer, and his family to agree to the mercy killing of her eight-year-old son. The emotional distress caused by this harassment ultimately led to her tragic decision to end her life. The police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
