The recent violence episode at Macherla town in the Palnadu district, in which members of the main opposition Telugu Desam Party and the ruling YSR Congress party engaged in attacks and counterattacks, has gained significant political attention in the state of Andhra Pradesh. In a press conference, the opposition TDP Cadres criticised the ruling YSRCP harshly, alleging that it had targeted their party with the help of the state Police.
