According to reports, the person who is accused of killing Shinzo Abe was not happy with the former Japanese prime minister. Tetsuya Yamagami, 41, said in Japanese media that he had intended to assassinate Abe. Abe was shot and killed by Yamagami on Friday morning while he was giving an electoral rally in Nara, an area east of Osaka. Witnesses reported hearing two bullets fired. According to reports, Yamagami, a resident of Nara, had a homemade gun. After the shooting, security personnel were seen on video footage pinning him to the ground. He made no indication that he intended to flee.
