Social Welfare Residential Students Clinch Medals at France

Ravi Kiran & Mayavathi from Social Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TSWREIS) proved their mettle at the World School Games held in Paris, France and they set examples that poverty is not a hurdle to reaching great heights in sports and winning medals at international level.

For the first time in the history of TSWREIS, Ravi Kiran from TSWREIS Sheikpet Sports Academy clinched gold medal, while Mayavathi from TSWREIS Dindi Sports academy bagged bronze medal in 200 mts event at Paris. The event witnessed huge competition from school students all over the world.

Secretary TSWREIS Ronald Rose congratulated the medalists and said ‘this is a moment of great pride and honor for the state Telangana to see that such a young boy and a girl from very poor backgrounds clinched medals in international competition. He further said, the entire credit goes to the chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and the minister for SCDD Koppula Eshwar for sanctioning 28 sports academies. The TSWREIS runs 28 Sports Academies under the supervision and watchful eyes of coaches of national repute to groom and build a new generation of sports persons from the marginalized communities to represent our country in international arena, remarked secretary, Ronald Rose.
