Former Home Minister Sucharita quits YSRCP Guntur district president post

Amaravati: Former Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita announced the key decision on Friday. It is known that Sucharita, who won as YSRCP MLA from the Prattipadu Assembly constituency in Guntur district in the 2019 elections, took charge as Home Minister in YSRCP president and Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy's first Cabinet.

Sucharita lost her ministerial post in the Cabinet reshuffle. With this development, Sucharita, who was ready to resign from the post of MLA, changed her decision after Jagan persuaded her not to tender her resignation to her post.

In the subsequent developments, Sucharita was appointed as the President of the Guntur District Party. Sucharita announced on Friday that she is stepping down from the post of Guntur district president of the party.

She also said that she has already informed the party leadership about her decision. She stated that henceforth she will be limited to her own constituency Prattipadu. YSRCP has not yet responded to Sucharitha's statement.
