No illegal mining in Rushikonda, Peddireddi refutes Chandrababu’s charges

Tirupati, July 14: Responding to allegations of TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu, Minister Peddireddi Ramachandra Reddy on Thursday made it clear that there was no illegal mining at Rushikonda in Visakhapatnam after YSRCP government came to power.

Speaking to the media here, he alleged that the TDP leaders are indulging in anti-social activities in Kuppam. “If the YSRCP functionaries are involved in rowdyism in Kuppam Assembly constituency then Chandrababu cannot win as an MLA,” he mentioned.

“Till date, the Mining Department collected Rs 114 crore as fine from 43 mining lease holders,” he said and asked Chandrababu whether Centre gave a single award to AP Mining Department during his 14-year tenure as CM. “Central government gave two awards to the Mining Department in the last three years under the YSRCP rule,” he mentioned.

Peddireddi flayed the TDP chief for saying illegal sand transportation is going unabated at 75 places in the state. “Rampant illegal sand mining took place in previous Chandrababu’s rule,” he said.
