Kalvakuntla Kavitha’s Open Letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy
Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Member of Legislative Council Kalvakuntla Kavitha has written an open letter to Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, demanding the cancellation and re-conduct of the Group-1 examinations. In the letter, Kalvakuntla Kavitha expressed concern that the government's negligence in conducting the Group-1 recruitment process had pushed the lives of unemployed youth into distress.
She alleged a lack of transparency and accountability in the government’s approach to job recruitment. According to Kalvakuntla Kavitha, multiple doubts had emerged among candidates regarding how the Group-1 examination was conducted and how the results were announced.
She highlighted confusion caused by the allocation of different hall ticket numbers for the preliminary and main examinations, stating this created chaos among aspirants. Kalvakuntla Kavitha questioned how the number of candidates appearing for the mains, initially listed as 21,075, later increased by ten after the announcement of results, despite the implementation of biometric attendance. She raised concerns over whether all the candidates had genuinely appeared for the examination or whether some were inserted into the process midway.
Kalvakuntla Kavitha also questioned the evaluation process. Although the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) had announced that the evaluation would be conducted by professors from reputed universities, she alleged that retired professors were actually assigned the task instead.
She pointed out that although the TSPSC initially declared that the mains examination would be held at 45 centres across the state, one additional centre was later added. She drew attention to the suspicion raised by aspirants over the fact that 71 candidates from two coaching centres—located within the two added examination centres—were selected for employment. Kalvakuntla Kavitha stated that even the TSPSC had acknowledged that these 71 candidates were indeed selected.
She concluded by noting that due to the growing unrest among candidates, the High Court had intervened and temporarily halted the recruitment process.
