Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu's Remarks on Establishing Anantapur Airport

The Andhra Pradesh state government is focusing on constructing new airports. Anantapur, which is near Bengaluru, is also being considered. In this context, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu stated that if suitable land is shown in Anantapur, they will study the feasibility of setting up an airport and proceed with the subsequent actions. He mentioned that 1,200 acres of land would be required for the airport.

Ram Mohan Naidu made these comments in response to the recent request made by State Finance Minister Pyyavula Keshav and local MPs Ambika Lakshmi Narayana and BK Parthasarathi, who emphasized the need for an airport in Anantapur to facilitate the export of horticultural products.
