Vijayawada occupies second spot as per national crime rate

Vijayawada, Jan 10: The home department is said to have disclosed that Vijayawada has turned out to have gained the number two spot in the country after Delhi in the rate of crime committed. It is also a major source for arms for Maoists, the department revealed. This revelation happened during a presentation in the pre-budget exercise that was held in Vijayawada on a couple of days back, sources said. AP director-general of police (DGP) J.V. Ramudu and A.R. Anuradha, additional DG (intelligence), are said to have made the presentation. Following the presentation of facts, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is believed to have blasted the police department.
