Woman chases away thieves despite stab injuries

Visakhapatnam, October 27: A woman fought off four thieves, who entered her house on Tuesday night and chased them away. The incident took place at Chimalapalli village, Pendurti constituency, Visakhapatnam district. 
 
According to police, retired employee Alla Apparao along with his wife Lalitha Kumari and two sons, lives near Cheruvugattu area. His son Avinash was married to Lavanya recently. On Tuesday night, Avinash went to duty.
 
All the family members were sleeping in a room and Lavanya was sleeping in another room. At about 1.30 am thieves removed the window grill and entered into the house. They bolted the room outside, in which family members were sleeping, and broke open the door of Lavanya’s room and tried to steal items. Lavanya woke up to the sound of door breaking. She raised alarm and tried to stop them. Thieves stabbed her with knife at multiple places and escaped.
 
Lavanya with bleeding injuries opened the door of her in-laws room. She was shifted to hospital and undergoing treatment. Police inspected the house and investigating the case.
