TSRTC to give jobs to kin of medically unfit employees

Hyderabad, August 10: The TSRTC gave green signal to provide alternate job to the family members of RTC employees, who are unable to attend to the duty due to health issues. It revived ‘medical invalidation scheme’ in this regard.

The TSRTC officials informed that the kin of such employees will be appointed on temporary basis and will be paid consolidated pay for the first three years. If their performance is satisfactory , then they will be appointed as full time employees.

The medical invalidation scheme was in force till 2019 and was stopped due to Covid pandemic, financial issues and losses. RTC MD Sajjanar took the decision to revive the scheme after the TSRTC income was increased due to diesel cess and other means.

It should be reminded here that the RTC also launched ‘bread winner scheme’ (jobs on compassionate grounds) to the family members of the employees, who died while on duty. Earlier, jobs were given directly under these two schemes but now temporary and consolidated pay methods are introduced.

The candidates appointed under this scheme have to attend 240 working days in a year and will be appointed as grade-2 driver, grade-2 conductor, sramic and RTC constable etc based on their qualification. Rs 19,000 per month will be paid to grade-2 driver, Rs 17,000 to grade-2 conductor and Rs 15,000 for the remaining two posts.
