India's population may shrink by 41 crore by 2100, says Stanford study

New Delhi:  A report has revealed that India's population will decrease drastically in the future. The population of our country, which is currently around 141 crore will drop to 100 crore by 2100. It is said that population growth and decrease are considered negative. A Stanford study says that knowledge and living standards will fall and the population will gradually become extinct. It is predicted that India's population density will fall to an alarming level in the coming days.

Although India and China look almost the same in terms of population, there is a huge difference when it comes to population density. India has 476 people per square kilometre. In China, that number is only 148 people. The study predicts that India's population density will drop to 335 by 2100, much higher than the rest of the world.

Along with India, the population of China and America will decrease in the next 78 years. In particular, China's population will fall to 49 crore by 2100. The reason for this is that the fertility rate is decreasing significantly. By 2050, total fertility is expected to be limited to 0.5 per cent.

India's fertility rate will drop from 1.76 per cent to 1.39 per cent by 2032. It is expected to fall to 1.28 per cent by 2052, 1.2 per cent by 2082, and 1.19 per cent by 2100.
