Digital literacy extended to 1000 schools, says KTR
Continuing on the success of digital literacy, the Telangana government plans to introduce digital literacy in some 1000 schools in the State. Revealing this, IT Minister K. Taraka Ramarao said at Begumpet on Wednesday that some 100,000 people became digitally literate last year. Releasing the annual report of the Telangana IT Department, the minister said special apps for women techies protection were being developed. He said the lakhs of employees in the IT field would be provided with promotional benefits. KTR said all the 26 government departments were digitalised and they were extensively using IT. Mee Seva was being diversified with more services being offered. He said e-panchayats have been started to take Mee Seva to villages. IT was being taken to Class II cities also. BPOs could be started from those cities, he added.
