Direct 10th class without studying 9th
New Delhi/Hyderabad, June 28: Good news for school dropouts. The Central government is planning a new scheme for those who have either failed nor studied ninth class. They can directly appear for 10th class examinations. Another facility is that they can pass one subject per year and complete 10th class. According to sources, Central Ministry of Human Resources Development is mulling about its implementation from grassroot level. Persons want to appear for 10th class examinations should register his/her name through online. National Institute of Open Schooling will decide the exam date and allot a number to each person appearing for the exam. Village panchayat offices will pass on the details to the candidates. Those, who unable to write or attend for the examinations of all subjects at one time, can write one subject per year. There is no time limit and they can write exams for 'n' number of years. 10th Class certificate will be issued to those who pass at least in five subjects (language compulsory). An official of Ministry of Human Resources Development said they are introducing this scheme for those persons, who have not completed schooling, irrespective of age. They are also thinking to provide chance to those who want to pursue higher studies after completing 10th class, through 'massive open online course', he added.
