Chandrababu Highlights 60 Achievements of 20-Month NDA Rule in AP

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on the first day of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly Budget Session met NDA alliance MLAs and MLCs at the Assembly Committee Hall and directed them to strongly communicate to the people the achievements and welfare and development programmes undertaken during the 20 months of the coalition government’s tenure.

N. Chandrababu Naidu stated that the State was progressing from destruction towards development and that growth had been recorded across sectors. He said the government had identified people’s needs and taken decisions accordingly, delivering governance appreciated by the public within a short span of time. He advised every MLA and Minister to explain government initiatives to the people.

On the occasion, N. Chandrababu Naidu detailed a list of 60 major programmes and achievements undertaken over the past 20 months.


  • Talliki Vandanam: ₹10,090 crore deposited into mothers’ accounts; 67.27 lakh students benefited.

  • Stree Shakti: Over 43.51 crore free bus journeys provided; ₹1,532 crore spent.

  • Deepam 2 Scheme: Three free LPG cylinders annually to 1.08 crore families; 3.64 crore cylinders distributed so far at a cost of ₹2,891 crore.

  • Annadata Sukhibhava: ₹20,000 per year to 46.86 lakh farmers; ₹6,310 crore deposited in two instalments.

  • NTR Bharosa: Monthly pensions to 63 lakh beneficiaries; ₹58,654 crore spent so far.

  • Support for Persons with Disabilities: Free bus travel and facility to draw pensions from anywhere.

  • Matsyakara Bharosa: ₹20,000 annually to 1.25 lakh fishermen; ₹250 crore allocated.

  • Free Electricity for Weavers: 500 units for power looms and 200 units for handlooms; over one lakh families benefited.

  • Assistance to Auto Drivers: ₹15,000 annually; ₹436 crore deposited for 2.90 lakh beneficiaries.

  • Anna Canteens: 7.50 crore meals served through 205 canteens in 113 constituencies.

  • Support to Occupational Groups: 10% liquor shop allocation to toddy tappers; special corporation for goldsmiths.

  • SC Categorisation: Implemented to ensure justice for all sections.

  • Honorarium to Pastors: ₹5,000 per month to 8,427 pastors.

  • Honorarium to Imams and Muezzins: ₹10,000 per month to imams; ₹5,000 to muezzins.

  • Support to Priests and Professionals: Temple priests’ salaries raised to ₹15,000; ₹25,000 per month to barber community members; ₹10,000 to junior lawyers.

  • Mega DSC: First file signed to fill 15,941 teacher posts.

  • Police Recruitment: 5,757 constable posts filled; stipend increased to ₹12,500.

  • Land Reforms: Distribution of new pattadar passbooks with State emblem; repeal of the Land Titling Act.

  • Support to Frontline Workers: Gratuity for Anganwadi and ASHA workers; NTR Baby Kits for new mothers.

  • Swarna Andhra–Swachh Andhra: Conducted every third Saturday; garbage tax abolished.

  • Road Development: ₹1,000 crore for repairs; ₹3,000 crore for new roads.

  • Industrial Policies: 25 new policies; MSME parks in 175 constituencies.

  • CII Summit Investments: ₹13.25 lakh crore investment agreements; 16.13 lakh potential jobs.

  • SIPB Approvals: ₹8.74 lakh crore investments approved in 14 meetings; 8.36 lakh jobs expected.

  • Google AI Data Centre: ₹1.25 lakh crore project in Visakhapatnam.

  • Technology and Infrastructure Projects: Foundation for Quantum Valley in Amaravati; Tata Consultancy Services began operations in Visakhapatnam.

  • AM Green Ammonia Project: Launched in Kakinada.

  • Temple Annadanam: Daily food distribution at Tirumala and other major temples.

  • Major Events: Yogandhra in Visakhapatnam and Super GST meeting in Kurnool conducted.

  • Medical Education Expansion: Medical colleges under PPP model; 110 additional medical seats for poor students.

  • Gram Sabha Initiatives: 3,000 works initiated; funds released to panchayats under Amarajeevi Jaladhara scheme.

  • Visakhapatnam Steel Plant: ₹11,440 crore Central assistance.

  • Revival of Central Schemes: 90 Central schemes revived; effective utilisation of funds.

  • National Infrastructure Projects: ₹1 lakh crore worth of National Highway and Railway projects for the State.

  • New Districts: Two new districts formed, increasing total to 28.

  • Women Empowerment: One lakh sewing machines distributed to women.

  • Paddy Procurement: Record procurement; ₹8,120 crore deposited to farmers within 24 hours.

  • Market Intervention: Over ₹1,100 crore assistance for various crops.

  • Groundwater Management: Levels increased to 6.08 metres through efficient water management.

  • Irrigation Spending: ₹23,793 crore spent on irrigation projects in 20 months.

  • Handri Neeva Project: Completed; 43 TMC water diverted to Rayalaseema.

  • Veligonda Project: ₹571 crore expenditure.

  • Polavaram Project: Rapid construction; targeted for dedication during 2027 Pushkarams.

  • Tungabhadra Repairs: ₹55 crore State share for gate repairs.

  • Project Maintenance: ₹610 crore for project repairs; ₹878 crore for canal maintenance.

  • Irrigation Societies: Elections conducted to 6,047 societies.

  • High-Speed Rail Corridors: Three corridors through the State included in the Union Budget.

  • Employee Welfare: Welfare benefits extended to government employees despite financial constraints.
