A peculiar incident took place at the Nukalamma temple in the Anakapalli district center on Sunday, as an individual opted to perform a unique Tulabaram ritual using tomatoes. Malla Jagga Apparao and Mohini's daughter, Bhavishya, conducted the ceremony within the temple premises. Initially, 51 kg of tomatoes were used for the ritual, followed by jaggery and sugar. The temple officials stated that these offerings would be utilized for the Nityannadanam (daily food offering) to the deity. However, the devotees who witnessed the Tulabharam were taken aback due to the high market price of tomatoes, which currently stands at Rs. 120 per kg.
