The highly coveted "Miyazaki" mango, renowned as the world's most expensive mango, took center stage at the Mango Festival in Siliguri. The festival, now in its 7th edition, commenced on Friday at a popular mall in the city, drawing attention from mango enthusiasts across the state. Organized by Modella Caretaker Centre & School (MCCS) in collaboration with the Association for Conservation & Tourism (ACT), the three-day-long extravaganza showcased over 262 varieties of mangoes, with participation from 55 growers representing nine districts of West Bengal. The star attraction of the festival, the "Miyazaki" mango, is famed for its exquisite color and steep price tag. In the international market, this prized mango commands a staggering price of approximately Rs 2.75 lakh per kilogram. Its mesmerizing appearance and unparalleled taste have made it a symbol of luxury and indulgence among mango connoisseurs worldwide.
