In a horrifying incident, a heavily armed man opened fire on a crowd outside a high school graduation ceremony in Richmond, Virginia on Tuesday, resulting in the loss of two lives and leaving five others injured, according to local law enforcement. The incident took place immediately following the conclusion of Huguenot High School's commencement ceremony, which was held at a theater on the campus of Virginia Commonwealth University. Witnesses reported panic and chaos as the gunman, armed with four handguns, indiscriminately fired into the crowd. Swift police response led to the arrest of a 19-year-old suspect who was known to one of the victims and specifically targeted him amidst the gathered crowd. Interim Richmond Police Chief Rick Edwards announced that the suspect is expected to face charges of two counts of second-degree murder, along with additional offenses.
