Karnataka: In a horrifying incident, five pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh, including a woman and a young girl, lost their lives, while 13 others sustained injuries. The accident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday in Yadgir, when the sports utility vehicle (SUV) they were travelling in collided with a stationary truck. The pilgrims, hailing from Vellagud village in Atmakur Taluk of Nandyal district, were en route to attend the Khwaja Bandenawaz Urus fair in Kalaburagi district. Tragically, at approximately 2 am, the driver lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a collision with the stationary truck at Padichakra village in Yadgir district. The impact of the crash claimed the lives of five individuals on the spot, while the remaining 13 passengers suffered injuries. Prompt action was taken, and the injured were immediately transported to a hospital in Kalaburagi for medical treatment.
