Gufi, aged 78, was the elder brother of renowned comedian Kanwarjit Singh Paintal, widely recognized for his iconic portrayal of the cunning 'Shakuni Mama' in the beloved television series 'Mahabharat' (1988-1990). Born on October 4, 1944, in the holy town of Tarn Taran in Punjab, Gufi Paintal made a significant mark in the film and television industry. He was best remembered for his memorable role in 'Mahabharat,' which gained immense popularity and captured the hearts of viewers across the nation during its airing on Doordarshan. Gufi Paintal's versatile talent extended beyond television, as he showcased his acting prowess in films such as 'Rafoo Chakkar,' 'Dillagi,' 'Des Pardes,' 'Suhaag,' and many more.
