Prakasam: Kondapi constituency in Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district was engulfed in tension on Monday as police apprehended a local TDP MLA, triggering protests and counter-protests by the ruling YSRCP and opposition TDP. The turmoil ensued when YSRCP leaders, led by V. Ashok Babu, the constituency in-charge, attempted to besiege the residence of TDP MLA Dola Sree Bala Veeranjaneya Swamy in Naidupalem. They accused the legislator of corruption, specifically alleging irregularities in the construction of toilets during the previous TDP regime. The YSRCP demanded appropriate action against the MLA. A considerable number of YSRCP functionaries gathered at the party office in Tangutur, planning to march to the MLA's house.
