In the aftermath of the tragic train accident in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken swift action to provide relief to the affected families. During a review meeting focused on relief and rescue operations, the Chief Minister directed officials to ensure the disbursement of ex-gratia payments to the families of passengers from Andhra Pradesh who lost their lives or sustained injuries in the accident. Under the Chief Minister's directive, a compensation of Rs 10 lakh each will be granted to the kin of the deceased, Rs 5 lakh each to those who suffered serious injuries, and Rs 1 lakh each to those who sustained minor injuries. This financial assistance is in addition to the support provided by the central government. During the meeting, the Chief Minister sought detailed information about the Andhra Pradesh passengers involved in the accident. In addition, the Chief Minister was briefed on the actions taken by the IAS officers' committee
