New Delhi: In a gesture of dissent against the Union government, a group of wrestlers arrived in Haridwar on Tuesday with the intention to immerse their hard-earned medals in the sacred waters of the Ganga. However, their plan was later called off as farmer leaders requested a five-day extension to address the underlying issues. Responding to the development, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, the Chief of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI), expressed his resignation, stating, "What can we do if the players want to immerse their medals?" Brij Bhushan Singh, who himself is facing allegations of sexual harassment, further commented, "The wrestlers intended to offer their medals to Ganga ji, but instead, they handed them over to (Rakesh) Tikait.
