Tirupati: A heartbreaking development has unfolded as one of the four tiger cubs, discovered near Atmakur forest in Nandyal district and subsequently relocated to SV Zoological Park in March, has died of pneumonia and nephritis, according to reports. The four tiger cubs were initially spotted by concerned residents of Pedda Gummadapuram, who promptly alerted the authorities. Despite efforts to reunite the cubs with their mother tiger, she failed to appear, leaving officials with no choice but to intervene. The cubs were then transferred to Tirupati Zoo, where a special enclosure was set up, and dedicated personnel ensured round-the-clock care. Over time, each cub managed to gain a significant weight increase, with an average gain of 20 kg. Following the unfortunate demise, a post-mortem examination revealed that the cub suffered from kidney and liver problems. In response, officials collected blood samples from the remaining three tiger cubs and dispatched them to a laboratory in Hyderabad for further analysis.
