New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has dismissed the bail plea of former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister and AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the ongoing investigation of the 2021-22 excise policy case by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma delivered the order on Manish Sisodia's bail plea after reserving it on May 11. The judge emphasized the serious nature of the allegations, stating that the excise policy was allegedly formulated with the intention of providing undue advantage to the South Group. Highlighting Sisodia's high position as a public servant, the judge expressed concerns about potential misconduct. The court also raised apprehensions regarding the accused's influence over witnesses, who are also public servants. "The allegations are very serious in nature. The accused was a public servant... Given the applicant's position of power, there is a possibility of him exerting influence over the witnesses," remarked Justice Sharma.
