Jammu&Kashmir: In a tragic incident on Tuesday morning, a bus traveling from Amritsar to Katra plunged into a deep gorge in the Jajjar Kotli area, resulting in the death of at least seven people. The injured passengers have been transported to hospitals, according to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Jammu. The DC stated that four individuals are in critical condition and have been taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital, while 12 others are receiving treatment at the local Primary Health Center (PHC) in Jammu. Speaking to the media, Deputy Commissioner Avny Lavasa of Jammu informed, "Seven people have lost their lives, and an additional four individuals have sustained serious injuries. The accident occurred near Jhajjar Kotli when the bus, carrying passengers from Amritsar to Katra, fell into a deep gorge." The bus was reportedly transporting pilgrims to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. Local residents and the police promptly responded to the scene and initiated rescue operations. Further information
