New Delhi: Congress party on Thursday officially announced Siddaramaiah as the Chief Minister of Karnataka and D.K. Shivakumar as the sole Deputy Chief Minister after several days of deliberations. The decision was revealed by General Secretary (Organisation) K.C. Venugopal during a press conference, where he expressed gratitude to the people of Karnataka for their support. The party acknowledged the efforts of leaders like Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in securing the victory. The swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for May 20. The Congress party also plans to invite opposition leaders to the event.
